It’s primary day. Polls open at 7 am, and close at 7 pm. Florida is a closed primary state which means you have to vote in the party you’re registered with, and make sure to bring along that photo ID.
That confirmed case of non-travel related Zika virus in Pinellas County could have actually been contracted in Hillsborough County. A report from 10 News says the person affected lives in Pinellas, but works in Tampa as a firefighter. All the firefighters at Station #3 where he works have been tested.
Tropical Depression #9 continues to move into the Gulf of Mexico, making that northeast turn overnight. On the present track the storm would move across the state late Wednesday into Thursday. There’s also great advice on how to properly stack those sandbags to keep water out of your home.
New drone rules went into effect this week and as a result we may see a lot more in the air. The rules open the way to more commercial use of drones, but they still cannot fly higher than 400 feet, weigh more than 55 pounds, and must be in sight of the operator at all times.
Because of the impending severe weather, the Bucs have moved their Thursday night game at Raymond James Stadium to Wednesday night. Kickoff against the Washington Redskins is at 8 pm.
