florida (1)Tropical Storm Hermine continues to move closer to Florida and with high tide on the way, along with the high winds and rain, there’s a new flood advisory out for the coastal areas of Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee and Sarasota counties through 1 pm tomorrow. 10 News Stormtracker  Bobby Deskins has more on what to expect. Governor Scott has declared a state of emergency for 42 counties that do include the Bay area, and said some 8,000 National Guard Troops are ready to assist residents. You can continue to track the storm and find county-by-county information here.

The latest closure comes from Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay with Adventure Island and Busch Gardens closed. Other reported closures for today now include all Pinellas County government offices, parks and preserves , and Hillsborough County is also closing county offices and other facilities, Many city offices will also close today like Dunedin, Pinellas Park and Tarpon Spring, so it’s a good idea to call ahead. The Glazer Children’s Museum will also be closed. And no fishing today on the Skyway Fishing Piers. They are closed until further notice.

The Florida Department of Transportation’s workshop on the Tampa Express Project has been rescheduled due to the storm. If you want to want to hear more about the proposed project that would add about 50 miles of toll lanes along I-275, I-75 and I-4 that meeting is now scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Seminole Heights Branch Library.
