It’s Election Day. Polls will open this morning at 7 am and close at 7 pm. By the way if you’re standing in line at 7 pm, you will be allowed to vote. Make sure you have ID with you when you head to the polls. For more information on where your polling place is and more, just click here.
The Hillsborough County Public Transportation Commission is now being sued by a limo company. A story in the Tampa Bay Times says West Coast Shuttle wants a judge to decide if the PTC should be allowed to regulate smartphone-based ride services. They feel that the rules in place for now for other ride share companies like Uber and Lyft actually create a monopoly for them to operate. The PTC meets again at 9 am Wednesday.
The Florida Highway Patrol now confirms that alcohol, along with high speed, was a factor in the crash early Sunday morning that killed a father and two children. Ronald Green died along with his children Sariyah, 9, and Ronald Green III, 5. The children’s mother Lasha Young did survive the wreck on 75 near Brandon on the Woodberry overpass
The newest mystery monkey was spotted in Pinellas Park yesterday, just north of Park Blvd near 55th. Florida Wildlife did manage to get a tranquilizer in to monkey but it got away. Vernon Yates is helping wildlife officials to track the animal like he did with our last monkey nicknamed Cornelius who took for years to catch. The first woman to hold the office of Attorney General, Janet Reno, passed away yesterday from Parkinson’s disease. Reno had run for Governor in Florida and died in Miami at age 78.
The Bucs will be back on the field Sunday at Raymond James Stadium against the Bears. Kickoff is 1 pm.
