The Hillsborough County Public Utilities Commission will talk about adding a mandatory recall scan for taxis, Uber and Lyft vehicles. An investigation from Ten Investigates showed one in five vehicles had recall notices. Some minor, some potentially dangerous. They’ll talk about it at the next board meeting on December 13th. A lot of people across the Bay area saw that very bright light last night shortly after 11 pm followed by a rumbling. Since there were no storms in the area it may have been a meteorite moving at some 17,000 mph, exploding before it hit the ground. Sightings were reported from south Florida all the way to southern Alabama. If you managed to get some video the American Meteor Society would love to have a look at it.
Keep an eye out for some dangerous toys that are still somehow on store shelves when you’re shopping this weekend. The warning comes from Florida PIRG, a consumer safety group that has issued their annual Trouble in Toyland report. We have the link for you here, but watch for toys like My Snuggly Ellie Activity Toys and Starbrights Dragon stuffed animals.
