It’s now five in a row for the Bucs with a win over the New Orleans by a score of 16-11 at Raymond James Stadium Sunday. The Bucs next game on the 18th against Dallas has been moved into a primetime slot with an 8:30 pm kickoff.
One of 40 guns stolen during a smash and grab robbery in Tampa in November was recovered when two teens were arrested over the weekend on murder charges. The two were initially arrested in Orlando on auto theft charges and were arrested when officers tracked them down on I-4 in Polk County.
Tampa police made an arrest in the robbery/kidnapping of a woman on South Howard Friday. Johnathon Rogers was seen on video surveillance hitting the woman and shoving her into her own car and taking off from the Green Lemon. He then robbed here before taking off and leaving her in the car.
Charlie Strong was named the new head coach for USF football. He’s the fourth coach in the team’s history, taking over from Willie Taggart who’s now head coach at Oregon.
Parade Magazine is out with their annual “best gifts” edition and Tampa’s Mike’s Pies has made the list. Parade chose their Key Lime Pie as the best from Mike’s which has been producing the pastries since 1992.
All five Florida college football teams have bowl games to look forward to. This Sunday UCF plays in the Cure Bowl against Arkansas State. It will be Florida and Iowa in the Outback Bowl in Tampa January 2nd; Florida State and Michigan in the Orange Bowl; USF and South Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl December 29th; and finally Miami playing West Virginia December 28th.
