Zephyrhill Toddler Struck By Train

Police Car LightsA terrible accident in Zephyrhills yesterday. A two year old boy was struck and killed by a train along with his babysitter. Hunter Fink died and his babysitter Heather Henderson is hospitalized with serious injuries. The two were walking with Hunter’s four year old sister and Henderson’s boyfriend on a bridge near Pattie Rd who managed to escape by jumping off the bridge. The major crimes squad is investigating the accident.

tampa_airport_2The first commercial flight to Cuba on Southwest took off from Tampa International Airport yesterday. Right now it’s just one flight down, one flight back, at $150.00 for the trip. There are only 20 daily non-stops flights out of the US to Havana and 14 of those are out of Florida.

It’s not even Christmas yet and most of us are already in debt according to a new survey from MagnifyMoney. Their annual holiday debt survey has most of us spending an additional $1,000 to what we had spent last year, and not having that paid off until March.

bucs3_12603435_8colThe Bucs will take their 8-5 record, winning their last five games in a row on the road this weekend. Sunday’s game against Dallas has been moved into a primetime slot with an 8:30 pm kickoff.

All five Florida college football teams have bowl games to look forward to. This Sunday UCF plays in the Cure Bowl against Arkansas State. It will be Florida and Iowa in the Outback Bowl in Tampa January 2nd; Florida State and Michigan in the Orange Bowl; USF and South Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl December 29th; and finally Miami playing West Virginia December 28th.

bowl-gamesWe know who’s on the short list for the college football national championship game coming to Tampa. The final four are now Alabama, who will play Washington in one semifinal game, and Clemson taking on Ohio State in the second.
