An Orlando Sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed and an Orlando motorcycle officer died in an accident during the manhunt for the alleged killer yesterday. Markeith Lloyd is suspected in another homicide and shot Orlando Police Master Sgt. Debra Clayton when she confronted him. Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Norman Lewis was struck on his motorcycle and died at ORMC. The search for Lloyd is still on, and we have more information on how you can help here. Monday was Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
It was Clemson over Alabama for the College Football National Championship last night at Raymond James Stadium. It all came down to the final seconds with Clemson going in for the touchdowns and the win over Alabama 35-31. A record-setting 74,500 fans were there to see it all.
A couple of Alabama fans who were scammed with fake tickets on Craigslist for the game were not happy about it. So they called the scalper back and set up a sting for more tickets in Ybor City. When he got there, so were the cops. Tampa Police have him under arrest and are checking him out for more scams.
There are more guns on the street after another smash and grab robbery at the Rapture Guns and Knives store on Highway 98 North in Lakeland. That happened early Monday morning and it’s the second time the store has been hit.
