Markeith Loyd, wanted in connection with the shooting death of Master Sgt. Debra Clayton has been caught. Orlando police found him in the Metro West area of Orlando. Loyd was wearing body armor, was armed and tried to escape before being taken into custody.
The Florida Highway Patrol is bringing back the “Arrive Alive” public safety campaign. A rash of bad wrecks originally began back in 1970, and accidents were on the decline for almost twenty years. It’s a group effort between Florida Police Chiefs Association, the Florida Sheriffs Association and the Florida Department of Transportation. The federal Motor Carrier Safety and Highway administrations are also involved.
Charges have been dropped against a group that’s been feeding the homeless in Lykes Gaslight Park in downtown Tampa. Food Not Bombs was serving vegan meals and was told they needed a permit for each day they were there. The Hillsborough State Attorney says there won’t be any further action against the group if they can work thing out with the city.
Former President George H.W Bush is in a Houston hospital. A spokesperson for the family won’t say why, but that the 92 year old Bush will be in for at least a couple of days and is in stable condition.
The mother of eight year old Isabelle Cook had the line of the day yesterday after Clearwater Fire Rescue got her out of the chimney she had climbed into. Quote mom – ‘what were you thinking?” Cook is fine and had somehow managed to climb on the roof of the abandoned house next door and drop down the chimney and got stuck.
