Severe Weather Triggers Flooding And Damages Homes

The same weather system that killed 14 in Georgia made its way into the Bay area last yesterday . That triggered some flooding and damage from strong winds and more storms are still possible, mainly this morning. The Coast Guard was busy as well with calls to rescue a total of sixteen boaters. You’ll need to keep an eye on the next few high tides that could bring more flooding. High winds may also affect the ride across the Sunshine Skyway. Keep an eye on those overhead signs for warnings and advisories.
The Women’s March in downtown St Pete Saturday brought some 20,000 marchers and that made it the biggest march in the city’s history. Police didn’t have reports of any arrests or violence.
The 18th Annual Clearwater Beach Classic was another casualty of the weather. Organizers had actually canceled all races on Saturday due to safety concerns but there were some hardcore runners that still came out on their own to run the route.
The matchups for the next Super Bowl are set, with New England and the Atlanta Falcons making it to the big game February 5th in Houston. If New England wins it would be their 5th win overall, and the second in the last three years
