Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn made it official yesterday. He will not run for governor in 2018. The Mayor posted his decision online. His next move? We’ll have to wait and see since he cannot run for the office of mayor tomorrow due to term limits. See more on the story from WTSP Ten News.

The South Florida Water Management District is going to pay snake hunters to participate in a new program. Starting April 1st, 25 people will be selected for a 60 day program that will give them special access to a property that’s infested with the invasive Burmese pythons in Miami-Dade County. Dade City’s Wild Things will no longer offer their “swim with the tigers” program at the park. The Florida Department of Agriculture has also fined Wild Things $21,000 for what they call “rough or excessive handling.” The park has until March 17th to appeal.
The bodies of eight manatees have been found washed onshore between Bradenton and Charlotte County. The More Marine Laboratory and Florida Fish and Wildlife suspect the outbreak of Red Tide may be to blame. If do see any sea life in distress, please call FWC Wildlife Alert hotline at 888-404-3922.
