Trevor Summers has been charged with kidnapping, grand theft, domestic violence and attempted murder in the first degree. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office said Summers kidnapped his wife Alisa last Saturday. They were found Monday in Ruskin. The couple’s children are in their grandparent’s custody.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s office is continuing to look for two men who went into the waters off Pass-A-Grille channel and disappeared. There were four more search and rescues along our west coast yesterday due to the strong winds and currents, with seven people pulled out of the water.

Our chilly weather has also closed water parks at Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, and SeaWorld’s Aquatica, for today and Thursday. Over 6500 flights were canceled as the result of a severe winter storm that hit the upper Midwest and east coast on Monday. You may still find delays and cancelations today as airlines get caught up so call ahead to check on your flight.

There’s a cobra missing in Ocala. Florida Fish and Wildlife have been looking for the two foot long snake since Monday. Brian Purdy has a license to handle venomous reptiles and called authorities when he found the snake was gone. They’ve been searching the area around 900 block of Northeast 9th Street near Ocala Tuscawilla Park. It’s a highly venomous snake so if you see it, leave it alone and  call FWC’s wildlife alert hotline at 888-404-3922.

Is Tampa becoming a safer place to live? Crime statistics released by the city of Tampa on Tuesday show a 24% decrease in crime since 2011. Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Chief of Police Eric Ward credit residents with helping to lower the crime stats, calling it a team effort.
