A successful early morning launch over at the Cape this morning. SpaceEx launched a Falcon 9 rocket that will send the EchoStar 23 communications satellite into orbit. That launch was delayed from Tuesday due to high winds. You can see the launch as it happened live just after 2 am.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s office is continuing to look for two men who went into the waters off Pass-A-Grille channel and disappeared. One of those Jie Luo, 21, was from a group of 15 students from Colorado State University here on spring break. The other is Andrew Dillman, a crew member on the chartered yacht. The Florida Senate is considering a measure that would end benefits for 200,000 Floridians. The Republican-backed move is based on the present economic conditions. It’s already been approved by two House committees.
Some of St Petersburg Police Officer K-9’s are getting their own body armor. They are being donated from Vested Interest in K-9’s Inc. The vests for Officers K9 Mafia, Ares, Crush, Tyson, Nero, Danno, and Maverick should be here within the next few months.
Our chilly weather will keep water parks at Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, and SeaWorld’s Aquatica and Legoland closed again today. They will be open just in time for the weekend.
