No Black Bear Hunts For Now

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is putting a hold on black bear hunts until at least 2019 by a 4-3 vote. They’ll take another look their bear management plan in two years but for now their studies say the majority of Floridians do not want a hunt this year.

Now where is the nation’s deadliest highway? It’s not I-4 according to Geotab, it’s a stretch of US 1 that has had the most fatal crashes over the last ten years in three categories. Distracted driving was cited as one of the big reasons for the wrecks. You can take a look at the full report here.

The Florida Blueberry Festival returns to Brooksville this weekend. Some 60,000 people are expected between Saturday and Sunday. Along with plenty of pie and shortcake will be the return of the 1,000 food slide.

Say what? Tampa has turned up in the #7 spot of the nation’s least attractive cities. Travel + Leisure magazine is looking at the superficial, noting the great restaurants but not great looking people. The #1 spot goes to Baltimore; we’re nestled between Cleveland at #6 and Atlanta at #8.
