Schools in Hillsborough to open earlier

Late yesterday afternoon, the Hillsborough County School Board approved earlier starting times for students in Elementary and Middle Schools. It would go into effect in the 2018-2019 school year.

Campbell Elementary principal Christine Hoffman has been transferred after an email scandal at the school. More disciplinary action may be taken.

Uncle John’s Pride, a Tampa company, is recalling approximately 139,909 pounds of ready-to-eat smoked meat and poultry sausage products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials. The suspected products are branded as GARCIA BRAND BEEF SMOKED SAUSAGE .

Another suspicious fire shut down State Road 54 in Seven Springs yesterday. Officials are using  trained search dogs to find the suspected arsonist in Polk County.

An investigation has been launched seeking to discover the cause of increased cancer rates among former Bayshore school students and faculty. Victims suspect tainted ground water could be the reason.

A possible Writer’s Guild strike could shut down Hollywood and have us watching re-runs right away.
