Hillsborough County bans open burning

Hillsborough is the latest county to ban open burning yesterday, just as several new brush fires broke out in the Bay area. .  One of those fires closed I-4 in Seffner during rush hour. More than 100 fires continue to burn in the State, as Florida continues to experience a severe drought.

2 Sulfur fires in less than 2 weeks at the Tampa Port Authority have closed the area until a plan can be put into place to stop these issues.

The expansion of Tampa International airport was showcased during last night’s open house. The new complex will include more parking, retail stores, a hotel and several restaurants.

United Airlines announce they have settled with a doctor dragged off a plane for an undisclosed amount. They also enacted a 10 point plan to better serve passengers. Recent incidents on other airlines, have many adopting a “no overbooking” policy.

The Florida House offered another historic apology yesterday. The Capitol hopes families will be able to find closure and some peace after decades of mistruths and pain.
