United Health Care, All Children’s Hospital Can’t Come To Agreement

A lot of kids who go to All Children’s Hospital may be losing their coverage. The insurance provider United Healthcare and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg could not come to an agreement on pre-negotiated rates for patient care. They’re not the only business affected. Companies in the Bay area like the city of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County Schools, Raymond James Financial and Charter Communications also carry United for their employees. Negotiations are continuing.

Tampa To Host NHL All Star Game

First came the news of Tampa hosting Super Bowl LV IN 2021 thanks to construction delays in Los Angeles. Now Tampa will also host 2018 NHL All-Star Game at Amalie Arena Jan. 27 and 28. That weekend will also include the skills competition.

New Hurricane Forecast Calls For More Storms

The latest forecast for the 2017 hurricane season that officially begins next Thursday, June 1st has been upgraded. The forecast now calls for 11-17 named storms, with 5-9 of them reaching hurricane status, and 2-4 becoming major hurricanes. Governor Scott signed a number of new laws yesterday, one of which is the Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday running June 2-4. “Psychic” Under Arrest

A Tarpon Springs woman who said she was a psychic is behind bars and charged with scamming people out of $155,000. She was finally busted when a military veteran talked with detectives at a Fraud Awareness Seminar and told them about Wilson who he’d had visits with at least 15 times. Tampa Gets Super Bowl LV

For once construction delays worked in our favor. Tampa will host Super Bowl LV IN 2021 thanks to construction delays in Los Angeles. Instead, LA will host Super Bowl LVI in 2022 in the new stadium that will be share by the Rams and the Chargers.

Data Breach At Florida Department of Agriculture

A data breach at the Florida the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services about two weeks ago exposed the personal information of gun owners and Social Security numbers. The hackers got into the system through the online payment portal. If you think your information may have been compromised, call (800) 350-1119 for assistance.

An explosion at a concert in Manchester, England has killed at least 22 people and injured more than 50. The attack happened just after a concert with Ariana Grande had ended. Police believe it was one male attacked involved in what are calling a “terrorist attack.

Vet’s Expressway Depression Closes Some Northbound Lanes

A depression opened Sunday on the Veteran’s Expressway and they had to shut down all the northbound lanes just to the south of the Hutchinson overpass. Lanes were reopened overnight, but the FHP has warned us that could change at any time.

It was the final curtain for the “greatest show on earth” last night in New York. Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey’s last performance was in Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y. That final performance was streamed live on Facebook as the circus closed after 146 years.

Dog With Cancer Still Missing

A dog undergoing treatment for cancer managed to escape BluePearl Veterinary Partners yesterday and is still missing. Shelby is a 4-year old boxer and ran from the office on Busch to the east of Dale Mabry. They’re worried about her becoming dehydrated in this heat and have offered a $1,000 reward. She’s been spotted in the area a couple of times since escaping Wednesday.

Two Sought In Stolen SUV Hit And Run

UPDATE – Christopher Michael Try turned himself in this morning, but the Florida Highway Patrol is looking for  Kevin Wilson, 23, of New Port Richey. They are both considered “persons of interest” in a hit and run incident.There’s video of a stolen SUV going out of control and striking 14-year old Johnny Walsh Jr on Moog Rd in Pasco County. Walsh walked away from the accident with some injuries but will be okay.

FHP Looking For Hit And Run Suspect

The Florida Highway Patrol needs our help finding a hit and run driver. There’s video of an out of control SUV striking 14-year old Johnny Walsh Jr and leaving the scene on Moog Rd in Pasco County. Walsh walked away from the accident, and now the FHP is looking for a gold Ford Expedition with license plate number GYC-T99.They describe the driver as a white man who appeared to be in his 20.
