A little seahorse was rescued on Indian Shores last week by a little girl and her Mom who found in dropped at their feet, possibly from a passing seagull. They call the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to save it, and now it’s nicknamed Cheeto since the girl thought that’s what it was at first. It’s recovering at the CMA who has the “Cheeto Cam” online now.

A mother Manatee and her calf were rescued from a canal adjacent to the Harbor View Mobile Manor in New Port Richey Wednesday. They were trapped when repairs to a nearby culvert cut them off and trapped them. They were taken to Lowry Park Zoo for observation.

Smoky air from the brush fire in Starkey Wilderness Preserve in Pasco could be around for up to a month. Burn bans remain in place for most Bay area counties. The Park remains closed through Sunday.

If you’re not able to take a cruise to Cuba this summer, you’re good for next year. Royal Caribbean said Wednesday the Empress of the Seas will return in summer 2018 for cruises to Cuba.  The four and five-night cruises leaving from the Port of Tampa will head to Key West, Costa Maya, Cozumel and Havana, Cuba.
