Cheeto is going home today. A little seahorse was rescued on Indian Shores last week by a girl and her Mom who found in dropped at their feet, possibly from a passing seagull. They call the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to save it, and now it’s nicknamed Cheeto since the girl thought that’s what it was at first. The CMA has the “Cheeto Cam” online now but it ends later today when Cheeto is released back into the waters it was rescued from.

The northbound lanes of 75 were shut down yesterday after a log truck’s load shifted causing the semi to swerved into the median and lose the logs all over the interstate. It took almost 3 hours before the mess was cleaned up and 75 reopened in Pasco just before 1 pm.

A 13-year old Riverview boy who walked away from his home on Lake Lucaya Drive Saturday afternoon was found safe and sound Sunday afternoon. Alex Baumgarten and his dog are back home, no other details have been released.

A new wildfire sparked by lightning Saturday afternoon is at least 80% contained in Starkey Park. That’s the third fire in the last two weeks. The park is still closed but the Suncoast Bike Trail is open. Pasco County remains under a burn ban.

Polk County has a brush fire of its own to deal with. The 400-acre blaze near Lake Wales began sometime Sunday afternoon and crews are on scene. Expect smoky conditions around the area
