United Health Care, All Children’s Hospital Can’t Come To Agreement

A lot of kids who go to All Children’s Hospital may be losing their coverage. The insurance provider United Healthcare and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg could not come to an agreement on pre-negotiated rates for patient care. They’re not the only business affected. Companies in the Bay area like the city of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County Schools, Raymond James Financial and Charter Communications also carry United for their employees. Negotiations are continuing.
Can Tampa handle the Gasparilla Parade and the 2018 NHL All-Star Game at Amalie Arena on the same day? City leaders sounded pretty confident yesterday after that announcement was made. The game and the parade are both scheduled for January 27th.
A man who said he had a gun caused the shutdown of Orlando International Airport yesterday evening. Police were able to talk the man into surrendering after a few hours, and found the gun was a fake and he had been Baker Acted in the past.
The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s released the official cause of death for Paul O’Neill, the founder of Trans-Siberian Orchestra Tuesday. O’Neill died of an accidental drug overdose at the Embassy Suites in April.
