NASA had to cancel the launch of a Terrier-Improved Malemute sounding rocket from Wallops Flight Facility last night because of the weather. They’ll try again tonight after 9 pm. The highlight of this launch is what it will produce – clouds that appear blue-green and red all the way from New York south to North Carolina.
Blood drives continue today in support of the 49 victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting. The Dove will be at Derby Lane on Gandy Blvd from 2 – 7 pm today with OneBlood. We have all the details here.
Hillsborough County schools will be back in session in less than two months but with fewer teachers. There’s a hiring freeze in effect. Superintendent Jeff Eakins has not said how long that freeze will be in effect.
Our rainy weather didn’t just send us seeking shelter inside, it sent a python under the hood of a car in Manatee County. The Ball Python popped out when they owners popped the hood. It took a little work to get it out, but now the car starts just fine.
There was just one winning tickets sold in the Powerball drawing Saturday night for a grand prize of an estimated $447.8 million. That lone ticket was sold at a store in Menifee, southeast of Los Angeles.
