The St Pete Pride Parade is Saturday night and there is a new route through downtown this year. You can check the full list of activities for the weekend here. The St Pete Police Department has given rainbow decals to local business that will designate them as “safe place” for the LGBT community. If someone feels harassed or threatened that decal would show them a safe place to go.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association is predicting sea levels to rise up to four feet by 2100 thanks to climate changes. That could create problems for the Bay area and all the expensive real estate along the water. But rain patterns are also changing so scientists will continue to study it.
The Florida Blueberry Festival is leaving downtown Brooksville and no one there is happy about it. Local business owners count on those visitors each April. The Board of Directors for the Festival say it’s outgrown the area but there’s no word on where it might be held.
There is on confirmed cases of mumps in Hillsborough County, and two that are probable .The three cases are all in one family. Mumps are pretty uncommon these days with the last cases reported by the Office of Public Health in 2016, and a few back in 2015 and 2014.
