Former Tampa Bay Lighting Captain Dave Andreychuck is going into the Hockey Hall of Fame. The class of 2017 also include Teemu Selanne and Ducks teammate Paul Kariya, along with
Mark Recchi, women’s star Danielle Goyette, Coach Clare Drake and Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs.

Five kids going for a swim at Calypso Tampa on Bearss Ave yesterday ended up going to the hospital after being sickened by chlorine gas. The owner of Calypso Tampa said he though the leak happened after heavy rains tripped a breaker that stopped a pump. When the system came back on it created a small chlorine gas cloud. Everyone is expected to be fine.

It’s not a new scam but it’s popping up again this summer here in the Bay area. Scammers who say they’re with the IRS are calling to tell you you’re behind in taxes and threaten to have you arrested if you don’t pay up with one of those prepaid debit cards so popular with other scammers. If you get a call, you can contact the IRS yourself on their Impersonation Scam Reporting web page for more information.

Good news for summer travelers. Gas prices in Florida are at a 12-year low. You can find gas for under $2 per gallon here in the Bay area. The average price nationally is $2.33 a gallon.
