Man Arrested After Wild Ride Down Clearwater Beach

Ryan Stiles is under arrest after he drove on Clearwater Beach trying to lose the police yesterday and he streamed it live. People were calling the cops all the way from California reporting the broadcast where Stiles was seen drinking on camera. No one on the beach was hurt. Stiles allegedly said he wanted to “take out” a police cruiser or building.


TECO confirmed a fifth man has died as the result of last month’s accident at the Big Bend Power Plant in Apollo Beach. BRACE employee Armando Perez died from his injuries he sustained when a slag tank exploded. There is a GoFundMe account set up in his name.


Officials in Pasco County say that cleaning up that massive sinkhole in Land O Lakes could take up to $2 million dollars to clean up. It’s no longer growing in size. Its 235 wide and about 50 feet deep threatening more homes. The county is not charging residents for well water testing for some 400 homes in the area and is working on stabilizing the area around the sinkhole.


The back-to-school sales tax holiday is coming up in August and computers will be back on the list. They were not last year. The holiday begins at midnight on Friday, August 4th and ends midnight on Sunday, August 6th.


Part of the Coast to Coast Connector Trail is now open. You’ll eventually be able to go from downtown St Pete over to the Atlantic Coast on foot or bike, a total of 250 miles. A five-mile segment that connects the Pinellas Trail to the Pasco County border opened yesterday, and the next segment that will open in 2019 will be in Pasco County.
