FWC Still Looking For Tips

The Florida Wildlife Commission says they know who’s behind a viral video that shows a shark being dragged behind a boat at high speed to its death. Since the FWC asked for help on social media they’ve received a lot of tips, and are still looking for more help. They ask you to call the FWC’S Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-3922. Former Lakeland Mayer Buddy Fletcher has died at age 84. He was major of Lakeland from 1993 to 2010, starting as a city commissioner in 1988.


The Florida Department of Transportation may lower the speed limit on some highways. It’s part of a program called the “Complete Streets” initiative and their mission is to lower pedestrian deaths. FDOT is looking for input and you can let them know how you feel about the possible changes here.

 

The back-to-school sales tax holiday is coming up in August and computers will be back on the list. They were not last year. The holiday begins at midnight on Friday, August 4th and ends midnight on Sunday, August 6th.
