Rallies For Peace In The Bay Area

Rallies were held on both side of the Bay last night in response to the violence in Virginia that killed one person. The rallies in Tampa and St Pete attracted hundreds. We have more on the story here.

It was just the first day of school in Tampa and someone tried to kidnap a 16 year old girl walking on Himes, near Flora Avenue. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office describes the suspect as a Hispanic male in his mid-30’s with a medium build. He was wearing a long sleeve white shirt with paint stains, khaki pants and a tan baseball hat. If you know anything call the sheriff’s office at 813-247-8200. Seven members of the Florida Gators have been suspended for the season opener against Michigan. That group includes quarterback Antonio Calloway. They were suspended for allegedly misusing school funds. The school has not issued formal statement on why they were suspended.

The Mote Marine Aquarium will hold a memorial for Snooty the Manatee next month. Snooty died when became trapped in equipment in the aquarium. The memorial will be held Sept. 10th
