Hurricane Irma continues to move closer to Florida triggering evacuations and school closures. For the complete list check with our partners at 10 News, home of StormTracker Ten. You can expect heavy interstate traffic with evacuees coming up from the Keys and the Miami-Dade area. Check with Florida 511 for more on travel conditions. At least 8 deaths are blamed on the storm so far.

For the most up to date storm information 24 hours a day make sure you download the TuneIn Radio App so you can stream The Dove on your phone. You’ll be able to access our Hurricane Guide with preparation and recovery information. Sandbags are still available across the Bay area at select locations.

We actually have three active hurricanes out there. Irma is the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic with 185 mph winds. Hurricane Katia may affect the Mexican coastline, and Hurricane Jose is out in the central Atlantic and is no threat to Florida right now.

Governor Scott has declared a state of emergency in advance of the storm, and the Florida Price Gouging Hotline has also been activated. Under state law it is illegal to raises prices to the extreme for items like water, food, ice, gas and hotel rooms. To report any illegal activity call 1-866-NO-SCAM.

As for the Miami Dolphins season opener with the Tampa Bay Bucs scheduled for 1 pm Sunday in Hard Rock Stadium in Orlando that has been cancelled. It will be played when both teams have a bye week, on November 19th. High school and college games are also affected.
