Warming Weather Could Trigger More Water Main Breaks

The weather is warming up but that may signal problems for more water mains across Tampa’s Bay. A record-breaking 30 pipes have burst and as we warm up that could trigger ever more for aging pipes. The biggest problem over the weekend was on MacDill and Azeele and officials hope to have that break repaired by Tuesday.

Just one winning Mega Millions lottery ticket was sold worth $450 million Friday night. That ticket was sold at a 7-11 in Port Richey. We’re still waiting for that winner to come forward, but the 7-11 is going to get a $100,000 bonus for selling that winning ticket.

Five people were thrown into the chilly Gulf Waters off Longboat Key Sunday when their canoe capsized. The three children and two adults were finally rescued by the Coast Guard and just in time. Waters temps were in the 50’s, and they did take the three children to All Children’s to be checked out.

There was a SpaceX launch at the Kennedy Space Center last night, but the payload is a secret satellite. That’s all we really know, aside from the code name Zuma. The first-stage booster rocket made it back intact for a landing at Kennedy.
