Toys R Us Stores Close

Two Bay area stores owned by Toys R Us will close as part of bankruptcy reorganization proceeding. Nationwide around 20% of the Toys and Baby’s R Us will shut down. But Lowes had better news for the Bay area. They want to hire 550 seasonal workers that will include full and part time positions.

 

 

It’s going to be a very busy weekend in and around downtown Tampa. With the Gasparilla Invasion Saturday and the NHL All-Star weekend events Saturday and Sunday you can expect delays and road closures. 

 

 

Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren announced the state will seek the death penalty for accused Seminole Heights killer Howell Donaldson III. Donaldson’s parents will be in court on Friday in their own civil contempt case and could face jail time if they continue to refuse to answer questions about their son.

 

 

 

 Heading to Pier 60 for some of those iconic sunset shots? Sorry, it’s closed for repairs. The city has shut down about half the Pier through February 2nd to upgrade the bait house with new siding and air conditioning, and repair the pavilions.
