Big Weekend Ahead

It’s going to be a very busy weekend in and around downtown Tampa. With the Gasparilla Invasion Saturday and the NHL All-Star weekend events Saturday and Sunday you can expect delays and road closures. Look at the forecast to stay ahead of the rain, and what to expect if you’re heading in to town this weekend.

 

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the target of a class action lawsuit by former ticket holders who allege they had their season tickets revoked for “no legitimate reason.” The Bucs said they can’t comment on pending litigation. The issue is over how often fans can resell their own season tickets.

 

 

Two stores owned by Toys R Us will closed as part of bankruptcy reorganization proceeding. Nationwide around 20% of the Toys and Baby’s R Us will shut down. But Lowes had better news for the Bay area. They want to hire 550 seasonal workers that will include full and part time positions.

 

A daylight saving bill was unanimously approved by the Florida Senate Community Affairs Committee Tuesday. The “Sunshine Protection Act” would mean the state would have daylight saving time all year. It still need approval by the Commerce and Tourism Committee and Rules Committee and then go to the Governor for his signature.
