Atlantic Division All-Stars

Tampa Bay and Amalie Arena hosted the NHL All-Star Game over the weekend. Rain put a slight damper on things outside Sunday, but inside it was the Pacific Division All-Stars that came out on top to take the one-million-dollar prize. The Tampa Bay Lightning had the most players on the Atlantic Division team that lost to the Pacific Division 5-2.

When the pirates had left Bayshore after the Gasparilla parade, volunteers came through to clean up. Thousands of leftover beads and lots of trash were cleared. The parade also featured the first handicapped-accessible float from the Krewe of Sir Francis Drake.

Sunday was a very special day for Plant City’s Dustin Snyder who was diagnosed with a rare form of synovial sarcoma cancer. The 19-year old wed his middle school sweetheart Sierra Siverio. The two had found each other again in high school and wanted to spend what time Dustin may have left together.

Pier 60 in Clearwater remains closed for repairs. The city has shut down about half the Pier through February 2nd to upgrade the bait house with new siding and air conditioning, and repair the pavilions.
