Request To FLDE To Investigate Law Enforcement Response In Parkland

A Pasco County student was charged with bringing a weapon to school. Sheriff’s deputies found an AR-15 in his truck, after someone spotted shotgun shells in the bed of the truck. There were no threats made against the school and now that student will face a third-degree felony. Florida Governor Rick Scott asked that the FDLE investigate law enforcement’s response to the Parkland shootings.



If the pollen wasn’t make you feel miserable, now comes the news that the flu season isn’t over yet. The Center for Disease Control says it’s not as bad as it was but for the first time this flu season the number of people making the trip to the doctor’s office has dropped.



Hillsborough County Commissioners want the Lightning stay in Amalie Arena. They voted to spend another $61 million dollars on improvements to the venue. The total amount for improvements now rises to $108.5 million through 2030. This would keep the Lightning in place through 2037 or face financial penalties. Funding would come from the county’s bed tax collection.



It’s getting close to spring break at the beach and Clearwater Beach has already gotten a jump-start on traffic control with a ten week park and ride that’s free. It started this past Monday with shuttle rides to and from parking lots to the beach. Look for signs around town that will direct you to those lots. And if you’d rather take the ferry – which is not free –  the city plans to double the amount of boats
