Personal Info Compromised In Data Breach

A major data breach of Under Armour and their popular app called MyFitnessPal may affect some 150 million users. The hack happened in February, and Under Armour says this breach did not affect any payment information. They’re advising users to change their passwords.

New Evac Zones In Pasco County

There is a new hurricane evacuation map in place for residents of Pasco County. One of the biggest changes is a change from Zone B to Zone A in Hudson. For a look at the map and more click here.

It’s Still Flu Season

Flu season is not over. The CDC is warning a second wave is underway. It’s the Type B that’s the biggest problem right now, and parent of small children are advised to keep an eye out for the usual symptoms.

St Pete Police are on the lookout for someone passing himself off as officer after a women reported being pulled over on 5th Ave South and 34th St. He was wearing a fake uniform with a badge and driving a white sedan that looked like a police car. Sunshine Protection Act Signed; Brush Fire Season

Governor Scott signed the year-round Daylight Saving Time Bill on Friday, but it’s not law yet. The “Sunshine Protection Act” does need Congressional approval.

It’s brush fire season and Polk county firefighters were busy fighting a 450-acre fire off near Nalcrest, just to the east of Lake Wales. Some home were evacuated briefly, and as of last night the fire was about 50% contained.

Students Stay Home After More Threats

After five bomb threats in four days a lot of students didn’t show up for school in Brooksville at Central High School and Endeavor Academy yesterday. Estimates are only ten per cent showed up for classes on Thursday. Hernando County Sheriff Al Neinhause believes the threats are related and coninutes to ask for information from students and parents. The Sheriff said even if the person who called in those threats is a juvenile he wants them charged as an adult.

Home Prices Rise Across Tampa Bay

It’s good news for homeowners across Tampa Bay with prices still on the rise as of last month. A story in this morning’s Tampa Bay Times cites Pasco as having the greatest increase. But sales in Pinellas and Hillsborough have gone done due to a lack of homes that are affordable to most buyers.

Severe Weather Triggers Fire, Skyway Shut Down

Yesterday’s severe weather shut down the Sunshine Skyway, caused power outages and wind damage. Lightning sparked a mobile home fire at a salvage yard in St Petersburg on 4th St North that completely destroyed the trailer. The owner was able to escape, but his dog did not. Cooler,  dryer weather is on the way today but it will still be windy.

The Latest On Cirque Performer

The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner will issue their report on the death of Cirque du Soleil performer Yann Arnau. Arnaud died at Tampa General Hospital following a fall during Saturday night’s performance in Tampa. Arnaud had been with Cirque for the past fifteen years. Sunday’s final shows were canceled.

The brother of the accused Parkland shooting suspect showed up at Majorie Stoneman Douglas High School yesterday and was promptly arrested. He had been warned to stay way from the school by police and said he just wanted to “soak it in.”

Lightning Back In Playoffs

The NHL Playoffs begin April 11th and the Tampa Bay Lightning will be there. This makes the fourth appearance in the last five years for the Bolts.
