There’s a bill headed for Governor Scott’s desk that would keep us on Daylight Savings Time all year long. The Senate approved the measure, and if the Governor signs it, it would still need approval from Congress to amend the law as it stands now.

It’s brush fire season and we’re begin warned that this year could be worse than 2017. Debris left over from Hurricane Irma is a major concern.  Pasco County has had two brush fires in the last few days, and a brush fire last weekend Hernando County is begin called suspicious. The weekend blaze on Kingbird Rd near 19 damaged three homes. Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

It looks like the city of Brooksville is about to shut down the police department after a 4-1 vote in favor of the action at last night’s City Council meeting. The Hernando County Sheriff’s office would take over patrolling the city if that does happen. Council wants a plan in place by the end of April.

You’ll be able to dive for scallops in Pasco County for the first time in 25 years starting in July. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission voted to add those ten days starting July 20th.
