Lightning Back In Playoffs

The NHL Playoffs begin April 11th and the Tampa Bay Lightning will be there. This makes the fourth appearance in the last five years for the Bolts.



Cirque du Soleil performer Yann Arnaud died at Tampa General Hospital following a fall during Saturday night’s performance in Tampa. Arnaud had been with Cirque for the past fifteen years. Sunday’s final shows were canceled.



All six of the victims of the bridge collapse at Florida International University in Miami have been identified, one of them a FIU student. Students return to class today and the first lawsuit is also expected to be filed later today.



Winn-Dixie announced the closure of 94 stores yesterday as part of their Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. That includes these ten stores here in the Bay area that the company classified as “underperforming.” This follows the news of closing 740 of their stores. putting 30,000 jobs are at risk. The online store will stay open for a few weeks as they look for a buyer. The liquidation includes the Babies R Us stores and holdings worldwide.


Florida State has made it to the Sweet Sixteen. The Seminoles came from 12 points down to upset Xavier Sunday night.
