Severe Weather Triggers Fire, Skyway Shut Down

Yesterday’s severe weather shut down the Sunshine Skyway, caused power outages and wind damage. Lightning sparked a mobile home fire at a salvage yard in St Petersburg on 4th St North that completely destroyed the trailer. The owner was able to escape, but his dog did not. Cooler,  dryer weather is on the way today but it will still be windy.

 

 

 

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri told the Pinellas County Comissioners at yesterday’s meetings that it will cost almost $24 million additional dollars to put  school resource officers in schools by July 1st.  No action was taken on the issue, and workshops are scheduled for more discussion.

The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner said the cause of death for Cirque du Soleil performer Yann Arnaud was a skull fracture. Arnaud died at Tampa General Hospital following a fall of 20-30 feet during Saturday night’s performance in Tampa. Arnaud had been with Cirque for the past fifteen years
