Lightning Take Game Two; Series Shifts To Boston

The Lightning take game two from Boston at Amalie Arena 4-2.. The series now shifts to Boston for games three and four. There’s a watch party at Water Works Park for game three Wednesday starting at 5:30 pm  Game four is Friday night, and that watch party will be part of Riverfest in Curtis Hixon Park at 4 pm. The Lightning do have home ice advantage for the series and we have the full playoff schedule here

Lightning Drop Game One of Round Two

The Lightning drop game one in round two in the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs 6-2. Game two is back at Amalie Arena at 7 pm also at Amalie Arena. The Lightning do have home ice advantage for the series and we have the full playoff schedule here.

Draft Day For The Bucs

Draft day for the Tampa Bay Bucs started with a first-round draft pick of DT Vita Vea. Vea is 6’4″, weighing in at 347 pounds coming from the University of Washington. The second round of the draft is today from Dallas.

Round two of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs kick off tomorrow at Amalie Arena. Packed School Board Meeting To Protest Firings

The Hernando County School Board heard from a roomful of people not entirely happy with the decision to fire 47 teachers at Moton Elementary School at yesterday’s meeting. The school has been rated D for the past two years by the Florida Department of Education and Superintendent Lori Romano had made that decision based on that low rating.

The attorney for the accused Seminole Heights man accused in the shooting deaths of four residents is asking for a mental competency exam for his client.  Howell Donaldson III is facing a possibly death sentence.

Former Rays Pitcher Farquhar Recovering

Former Rays pitcher Danny Farquhar collapsed in the dugout during a Chicago White Sox game on Monday with a hemorrhage from a brain aneurysm. A release from the White Sox said surgery was successful but he’s still listed in critical condition. He pitched for the Rays in 2016 and part of 2017 before being released.

Round Two NHL Tickets Go On Sale Today

Round two NHL playoff tickets for the Tampa Bay Lightning go on sale today. Single game tickets will be available starting at 1 pm. Once again the Lightning will have home ice advantage and will play either the Boston Bruins of Toronto Maple Leafs.

Sheriff’s Deputies Ambushed

Two Sheriff’s Deputies from Gilchrist County died in the line of duty Thursday. Sgt. Noel Ramirez and Deputy Taylor Lindsay died when they were shot through the window if a restaurant. The suspect took his own life. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and the Levy County Sheriff’s Office are all assisting in the investigation.

The Lightning take a 3-1 lead over New Jersey in the firsr round of the NHL playoffs with a 3-1 win. Nikita Kucherov scored two of the goals. The Lightning return to Amalie Arena Saturday for game five. Game six is back in Jersey Monday, April 23rd,  and if game seven is necessary it’s back to Amalie Arena on Wednesday, April 25th.

Hurricane Center Making Changes To Forecasts

The Jameis Winston’s paycheck is about to get bigger. The Bucs picked up his fifth-year option on his original rookie contract. He’ll make $20.9 million dollars for his fifth year.

What appear to be nine breeder dogs were found stuffed into one crate and abandoned in an alley in St Pete Monday night. St Pete Police consider this a case of animal cruelty. Pawlicious Poochie Rescue of St Pete took the dogs in to be treated for various conditions.
