Sheriff’s Deputies Ambushed

Two Sheriff’s Deputies from Gilchrist County died in the line of duty Thursday. Sgt. Noel Ramirez and Deputy Taylor Lindsay died when they were shot through the window if a restaurant. The suspect took his own life. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and the Levy County Sheriff’s Office are all assisting in the investigation.

 

 

The Lightning take a 3-1 lead over New Jersey in the first round of the NHL playoffs with a 3-1 win. Nikita Kucherov scored two of the goals. The Lightning return to Amalie Arena Saturday for game five. Game six is back in Jersey Monday, April 23rd,  and if game seven is necessary it’s back to Amalie Arena on Wednesday, April 25th.

The funeral for former First Lady Barbara Bush will be this weekend. A viewing open to the public will be Friday in Houston from noon to midnight. The private service on Saturday is by invitation only. She was married for 45 years to former President George Bush, the longest marriage of any White House couple.

 

 

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Deputies helped wrangled a nine foot alligator from a pool in the Eagle subdivision in Odessa Thursday. It’s the active time of year for gators and this isn’t the first report of them showing up where they don’t belong.
