Former Rays Pitcher Farquhar Recovering

Former Rays pitcher Danny Farquhar collapsed in the dugout during a Chicago White Sox game on Monday with a hemorrhage from a brain aneurysm. A release from the White Sox said surgery was successful but he’s still listed in critical condition. He pitched for the Rays in 2016 and part of 2017 before being released.



Which artists will have their work on display in the new Pier district? We may find that out later today when the pier public arts committee meets at 9 am. The meeting is expected to last most of the day with the committee meeting around 5 pm to make their decisions.



Gas prices are the highest they’ve been in three years and that’s going to make for a more expensive summer travel season. AAA says with the threat of another busy hurricane season that could trigger even higher prices.



Round two NHL playoff tickets for the Tampa Bay Lightning went on sale Monday. Once again the Lightning will have home ice advantage and will play either the Boston Bruins of Toronto Maple Leafs.



There’s a chance to less than popular beach bill that restricts public access to parts of the beach in front of resort hotels along with condos and private homes may get a second look. That bill is scheduled to go into effect July 1st, but two Bay area lawmakers say they want any parts of the beach that receive public funds for renourishment would be open to the public.



The CDC is telling us to throw away all types of Romaine lettuce. An outbreak of E. coli has been linked to Romaine lettuce grown in Yuma, Arizona. Unless you know for sure what you’ve bought was not grown there the CDC wants you to get rid of it.  Check for more on the story and the report from the CDC here.
