Tax-Free Hurricane Supply Shopping Begins Today

Hurricane season officially begins on today and it also kicks off the tax-free shopping week for supplies.. Predictions have been for an above average season, and we’ve already had our first named storm. The  Bayshore Beautiful Homeowners’ Association is going to pay for increased police presence along Bayshore Blvd after a young mother and her 2-year old daughter were struck and killed by drag racing teenagers a week ago. They’ll pay $2,500 for the next month to have Tampa Police Department Officers in the area, and then take a look at how things went to see if they want to continue the program. The latest report from TPD estimates the car drive by Cameron Herrin was going 102 mph in the moment before the crash, In the week since the accident some 300 drivers have been stopped for speeding on Bayshore, despite a lowered speed limit. You can even help them out – we have the full story here.

Sears and Kmart are closing 72 more stores, two of those in the Bay area. The Kmart at 5400 E. Busch Blvd and  the Sears store in Citrus Park Town Center are on the list. There is no closing date announced yet..
