Bike Ride Honors Bayshore Victims; More Drag Racers Arrested

Less that two weeks after a young other and her daughter lost their lives to drag races on Bayshore Blvd, Tampa PD stopped two more racers on Gandy Blvd. One of them had two young children in the car. Michael Lemire and Michael Segler were arrested and face misdemeanor charges of street racing. Lemire had his children in the car.



There was a bike ride on Sunday in honor of Jessica Raubenolt and her 2-year-old daughter Lillia, the mother and daughter who lost their lives to drag racers on Bayshore Blvd. Investigators say the car that hit them may have been going as fast as 102 mph at the time. The speed limit on Bayshore has been lowered and you’ll notice more police patrolling the stretch as well.

Sears and Kmart are closing 72 more stores, two of those in the Bay area. The Kmart at 5400 E. Busch Blvd and  the Sears store in Citrus Park Town Center are on the list. There is no closing date announced yet..
