SunPass is shut down for maintenance through this Monday, June 11th at 9 am. If you’re low on funds for your SunPass account you won’t be able to add more until the system is back on line. Tolls will still be charged and add back on to accounts when it’s back up as well.

Tax-free shopping ends tomorrow, June 7th for Florida’s 2018 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. It’s a chance to get some supplies for your hurricane prep kit a little cheaper. You can see a full list of what is included here as well as what is not.

Less that two weeks after a young other and her daughter lost their lives to drag races on Bayshore Blvd, Tampa PD stopped two more racers on Gandy Blvd. One of them had two young children in the car. Michael Lemire and Michael Segler were arrested and face misdemeanor charges of street racing. Lemire had his children in the car. Now law enforcement on both sides of the Bay are asking for help from local businesses to allow them onto their property and arrest racers before they get back out on the streets.

You’ll notice more “wrong way” warning signs going up around the Bay area soon. FDOT  received at $300,000 grant and will start putting those signs up in July. Wrong-way driver calls doubled in Hillsborough County last month compared to the same time last year.

The state is going after a Tarpon Springs hotel for price gouging during hurricane Irma. It’s the second time the Tarpon Inn has been cited, the first time was during Hurricane Matthew.
