Mazzaro’s Market Closed After Fire

Mazzaro’s Market will be closed today after a fire in the warehouse Friday night caused extensive damage. That fire caused some $75,000 damage. The market owners think it was an electrical issue that triggered the blaze. There’s more on the Mazzaro’s Facebook page, and right now they’re hoping to reopen Tuesday.



Families that left Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria are once again looking for a new home. A fire at an apartment complex in Riverview has left 100 residents looking for shelter and Somos Puerto Rico Tampa is working with Missions of Miracles to help them find shelter. Kellogg’s Honey Smacks CerealThe FDA has issued a recall for Kellogg’s Sugar Smacks cereal after reports of more than 70 people in 31 states became sick after eating the cereal. Check the full recall list for more information.



It’s a bad year for jellyfish stings. At least 1,200 stings have been reported between this past Saturday and Wednesday in Volusia County. Officials say it’s definitely well above average but think it’s just more people at the beach and not more jellyfish.

Tampa’s Historic Streetcar will be a free ride for the next three years. FDOT made the announcement last week that a Transit Service Grant is making it possible starting in August for the almost 3-mile ride around downtown Tampa. The streetcars will make the trek more often and with extended hours.
