Yesterday’s storms were responsible for flooding and power outages on both sides of the Bay. Up to two inches of rain per hour were coming down in some areas. The storms also produced lightning that struck and killed one person on Siesta Key in Sarasota.
A New Tampa family out for a bike ride over the weekend were struck by a hit-and-run driver, killing the father, Pedro Aguerreberry, and injuring his two sons. Police did find the car they believe struck the three and have taken one man into custody. That man, Mikese Morse, is now charged with premeditated first degree murder as well as two counts of attempted murder.
The Tampa Bay Lightning’s schedule is out for next season. The first home game that will kick off five in a row is October 6th against the Florida Panthers. The first games against the Washington Capitals that knocked the Lightning out of the race for the Stanley Cup won’t be until March.
