One of the most famous homes in Pasco county was hit by lightning and completely destroyed by fire over the weekend. The stilt home was known as the American Flag home. Firefighters had a tough time fighting the blaze since the home sits out in the Gulf of Mexico. The owners say they want to rebuild.

Florida Fish and Wildlife says the presence of red tide is minimal in Pinellas County. That report is online now. The strongest concentrations are still in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
The three-county rapid transit system proposed as part of the Howard Frankland bridge is not included in the latest proposals. The Florida Department of Transportation says there’s room for change.
