Election Results; A Miracle For A Little Dog

Senator Ron DeSantis won the the Republican nomination for Governor and it was an upset on the Democratic side with Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum winning. If Gillum wins in November he would be the first black Governor in the states history. For full election day primary results check here.



Another event canceled thanks to the impact of red tide. The Sarasota Sailing Club’s 72-year traditional Labor Day Regatta won’t happen this year and it’s a first. In Manatee county officials are now asking the public’s help to pay a contractor $250,000 in cleanup fees. Florida Fish and Wildlife says the presence of red tide is minimal in Pinellas County. Shane Hale’s dog went overboard during weekend storms Saturday near Venice, but he has his beloved pet back. Harley was wearing a life jacket and was tethered. Harley did make it shore and was found on beach. He has a touch of pneumonia but should be fine.



A team of truckers helped save a suicidal man in Orlando Tuesday. They lined up under the overpass on a portion of the Florida Turnpike near Kirkman Road. FHP did manage to talk him safely down. If you do need help please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255.
