Gordon Weakens, Florence Becomes Major Hurricane

Charisse Stinson, the mother of  two-year old Jordan Belliveau was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Police found the body of her son Tuesday around Lake Avenue and McMullen Road. Stinson had told police she accepted a ride and was struck in the head and when she woke up Jordan was gone. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Child Protection Investigation Division released documents Wednesday that included among other items that Jordan had been in DCF custody and was with a foster family and was returned to his mother one day before she allegedly killed him.

 

 

Tropical Storm Gordon has been downgraded to a depression, but forecasters are watching the path of Hurricane Florence more closely. Florence is a Category 4 hurricane with winds reaching at least 130 mph, making it the first major hurricane of the 2018 season, One path does have it heading toward the east coast next week. Another third pygmy killer whale was found,on Longboat Key and was being cared for along with two others brought in for care earlier. That whal died yesterday and a necropsy will determine if red tide was involved.. The remaining two pygmy whales are in critical condition.

 

 

The Bucs regular season kicks off Sunday New Orleans against the Saints. The first home game is Sunday, September 16th against the Philadelphia Eagles.
