Red Tide Levels Surge; Hurricane Florence Creeps Closer To Coast

With mandatory evacuations orders issued for the coastal areas of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Hurricane Florence weakened overnight but is expected to strengthen before landfall. A state of emergency has been declared with a storm surge of up to ten feet or more predicted. Make sure you have preparations complete for hurricane season on the Dove Hurricane Guide.

 

 

The news about red tide in not good for for the Bay area. Florida Fish & Wildlife’s latest reports show what they say is a significant rise in red tide levels in the Bay area. 125 miles of Florida coastline are now affected stretching from southwest Florida up to northwest Florida for the first time,. To track the levels of red tide check the latest map from Florida Fish and Wildlife.

 

 

Tampa Bay Lightning GM Steve Yzerman is stepping away from his role of General Manager for the team. Yzerman will become senior advisor for new GM BriseBois who becomes the seventh GM in the team’s history. The team starts training camp this week.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicked of the season at New Orleans on Sunday with a win against the New Orleans Saints 48-40. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick threw four touchdowns, ran one in himself and threw for 417 yards. The Bucs open at home this weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday at 1 pm.
