Rays Buying Rowdies

The Tampa Bay Rays are reportedly buying the Tampa Bay Rowdies soccer team. With that deal the Rays would also gain control of Al Lang Stadium. A press conference is scheduled for later today.

 

Red tide is now on Florida’s east coast. A new report from The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirms low-to-medium concentrations in water samples from the waters off the coast of Palm Beach County. A few beaches have been closed in Palm Beach and Martin counties.

 

After delay, presidential emergency alert to be tested this week
The national Emergency Alert System (EAS) and the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) system will be tested Wednesday around 2:18 pm and will last for about 30 minutes. An alert will be sent to all providers that are a part of the system and will sound similar to the EAS tests. You cannot opt out of those tests.

 

The Buccaneers lost to the Chicago Bears Sunday 48-10. This next week is a bye week for the team, with the next game in Atlanta on the 14th. Winston will start for the Bucs in Atlanta.

 

There are new laws in Florida.  One of those is designed to help first responders ho suffer from PTSD. Another will increase penalties against anyone found guilty of animal abuse. For a full list of the new laws that went into effect Monday check here.
