Hurricane Michael made landfall as close to a category five as you can get yesterday – within a mile or two of actually being a five. It hit with winds of 155 mph winds causing catastrophic damage. Landfall was on Mexico Beach as the most powerful hurricane to hit the continental US in the past 50 years. Storm surge in Apalachicola also reached a record of over seven feet, The storm is now down to a tropical storms hitting Georgia and the Carolinas as it heads offshore and into open water.
The recovery phase will kick in now and 105.5 The Dove will be on site all day tomorrow at the Walmart Supercenter at 1505 North Dale Mabry in Tampa between 5 am – 7 pm collecting supplies that are most needed in the aftermath of a hurricane, included bottled water, diapers, baby formula and non-perishable food items. Will Hurricane Michael have any impact on the red tide plaguing the Bay area? Scientists at NOAA thinks it might by pulling some of that toxic bloom to our north. But it’s not a certainty. You can get the latest map from the FWC now.

A company that the city of St Pete uses to process parking tickets, pay bill and more had a data breach affecting 28,000 customers. Click2Gov told the city they found malware on their server and anyone who used the third-party payer between Aug 11, 2018 and Sept 25, 2018 may have had their personal information compromised.
